
Sören Schomburg is a partner at Knauer Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB. He specializes in white collar defense, tax law, international criminal law, extradition, mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and INTERPOL. Sören studied law at the Humboldt University in Berlin. In 2005 and 2006, he attended King's College London where he studied criminal law, criminology and human rights. He served as a legal clerk at the German Foreign Office and at a law firm specializing in white collar defense. As a scholarship holder of the Robert Bosch Foundation, he worked for a law firm in Tokyo, Japan, where he focused on commercial law. Sören is fluent in German, English, Danish and French. He has been successfully representing clients in extradition proceedings for more than ten years. He is the author of numerous publications about white collar crime, INTERPOL and European arrest warrant issues. He regularly speaks at conferences on international legal assistance in criminal matters and INTERPOL. At the invitation of Germany's Federal Ministry of Justice, Sören worked on reforming the mechanisms of international legal assistance in criminal matters. He is regularly consulted as an expert on extradition and mutual legal assistance matters. He has also recorded a podcast on this topic.
